What’s on here at The Kitchen Table headquarters on Totnes Industrial Estate? Well, we continue to serve takeaway lunches Monday- Friday 12 -2 to hungry workers and locals. A typical menu is courgette & Sharpham Rustic cheese stuffed field mushroom polenta bake with red wine vinegar braised beetroot & carrot, watercress, parsley & puy lentil salad, mixed organic leaves, griddled aubergine & steamed green beans with vinaigrette, Greek salad with Somerset feta, local, organic & heritage tomatoes, cucumber and herbs. We often have cake and sometimes a homemade drink of some sort – I’ve enjoyed making ginger st Clements for instance.
The pop up cocktail evenings continue to attract a fantastic crowd and we are always full with a great vibe! Dita (of Bar Blah Blah) makes the most interesting and delicious, seasonal and creative cocktails I have ever tasted! Our next cocktail pop up is the 22nd December (for a rocking Xmas party!). With your amazing drinks, I serve delicious small and larger plates so you can order a few and share with friends. Last month we made fennel & lemon fish goujons with slow roasted onion mayo, polenta chips with salsa, cider roasted pork wraps and much more! The prices range from £3 to £8 per plate and some people come for dinner and others to snack with their drinks. We’ve been lucky so far with the weather (fingers crossed for September!) and guests have spilled out on the yard in the front on tables, chairs and under the gazebo with candlelight and music from our DJ.
We’ve also had a summer Brunch Club starting in June and ending this coming Monday where we’ve opened up the space on a Sunday (this Bank Holiday being an exception) serving delicious, creative and interesting brunch food, Dita’s cocktails and coffee from Cafe Latino Van.
Talking of this weekend; we’re super excited to be catering The Bay Horse beer & cider festival, for the 6th year running, as part of the the second year of Seachange Festival. We’ll be in the garden Friday, Saturday and Sunday serving delicious BBQ Friday and Saturday and slow cooked lamb on Sunday (with griddled aubergines for the vegetarians).
So, we hope to see you soon, at any or all of our events, lunch takeaway or out and about in our lovely town of Totnes. Happy summer!
