Our Suppliers

Our locally sourced suppliers are part of the team

Country Cheeses

We’ve been sourcing all our cheeses from the Country Cheese shop on Ticklemore Street in Totnes since we started in 2011. They are always a fountain of knowledge, enthusiasm and help.

Annies

We get a lot of our veg delivered from Annies, also on Ticklemore Street, Totnes. We love how much local, organic veg they have on offer and design our menu’s according to what they have available at the time.

Luscombe Butchers

We’ve been with Luscombe’s since we started – they provide us with locally reared Beef and lamb and occasionally other meat too. It’s great to have a small local business to source our meat knowing that they get their produce from Devon and from small farms with the same ethos as us.

Dragonfly Foods

We source as many of our ingredients locally as we can. Vegan protein is harder but we have found a way to at least support another local business; Dragonfly Foods make delicious tofu locally which we use a great many vegan recipes.

Jacksons Fishmongers

Jacksons in Newton Abbot supply us with locally and sustainably caught fish and seafood as well as having their own smokery which makes delicious smoked mackerel among countless other delicacies. The team are really helpful and provide us with delicious and varied fish and products throughout the year.

School Farm CSA

The Kitchen Table is a member of the School Farm CSA scheme – we use their vegetables as much as we can in our cooking – especially in smaller jobs. “Community Supported Agriculture is a membership farming scheme. Members of the farm  commit to buying a share of the farm’s harvest for 12-months at a time."

Cormacks Fishmongers

New to Totnes, Cormacks, run by Canadian-born chef Aarik, is a welcome arrival! They only source from small boats using selective fishing methods. Sourcing locally from Devon and Cornwall. He also collaborates with local businesses such as Tamarind Tree, The Kitchen Table & Taguchi Canteen to bring you delicious fish meals using our recipes & ideas & his fantastic fish.

Lamaro Bakery

Just around the corner from our kitchen, Lamaro is baking artisanal bread which we buy for our bread baskets at events. Fresh, delicious & varied bread to go with our own whipped butters or local oil & organic vinegars.

Baker Tom's

For our bread rolls at BBQs and sliced bread for sandwich platters, we source organic bread from Baker Toms. They are a bit further away than I would normally source from but they make great bread for those delicious sandwiches we make for business lunches, high teas & sandwich platters and to hold our famous homemade vegan & meat burgers!

Riverford Dairy

We get our milk, curd cheese, creme fraiche, clotted cream, cottage cheese & cream from the dairy, just outside of Totnes. When the dairy industry has such a bad record, it feels good to know we get ours from such a great farm, so near to Totnes. Their products are delicious! As well as in our cooking, you will also find their products on our sweet & savoury cream teas, at the hot drinks table at any event, in a meringue or cheesecake.

Wellspring Farm

This small scale market garden based in Buckfastleigh is a new supplier to us. They grow vegetables, cut flowers, herbs, soft fruit and microgreens using no dig and minimum tillage methods. No chemicals, no pesticides, just delicious and nutritious food for our community!

Owen's Coffee

We drink this locally roasted organic fair-trade coffee in the kitchen though really it is meant to be served just to customers at events! But we love it :) Any event needing hot drinks has Owen's decaf & caffeinated coffee on offer alongside organic teas, plant milk & Riverford dairy milk.

Apricot Centre

The farm was designed using the permaculture methodology, with an aim to produce delicious biodynamic food, vegetables, fruit, eggs, preserves and flour. The farm also supports wildlife biodiversity and has been designed to be low carbon. We are both organic and biodynamic certified. They have created a beautiful, resilient and sustainable farm which supplies me fruit & veg.

Sladesdown Farm

This gorgeous family-farm near Ashburton, supplies us with free-range poultry which is grown and finished on all natural feed with no added growth stimulants or antibiotics. They have their own modern processing facility on the farm, so all of their poultry is processed according to Veterinary regulations without having to have any stressful travel.

Bell & Loxton

We met Jonathan & Rachel at a Transition Town Totnes event when we first set up the business and have been using their delicious oil since. It's so versatile & healthy, a home-grown alternative to Olive Oil. Bell & Loxton's cold pressed rapeseed oil is a completely natural product with many advantages over other culinary oils.

Cornish Sea Salt

Delicious salt made in Cornwall, fantastic & local. Perfect for our cooking.
Picture

New Lion Brewery

We have been connected to the brewery since it began! From catering their birthday parties to serving food at their events. Plus, we love cooking with their beer!
Picture

Hunts Cider

We've been at food fairs and events with Hunts for years & love cooking with their cider - boiling ham, veg gratins, stews & cake! In 2019, we had a BBQ stall at their infamous Cider Festival! We had a blast.

Hodmedod's

Again, a fabulous business we learned about from our work with Transition, Hodmedods are growing grain & pulses in the UK which has meant we could localise even more of our ingredients. We buy fava beans for our humous, green lentils, quinoa, chickpeas & oats from these guys!

Essential Trading

We buy the larder ingredients we can't source locally from Essential, based in Bristol. They only ship, not fly their products and have a wide range of organic & fairtrade products - all our chocolate, sugar, flour etc.

Jackson's

The dedicated gluten free bakery is in the heart of Torquay, South Devon. They use only gluten free, quality ingredients and wherever possible they use locally sourced ingredients.
We use their bread for sandwiches & rolls when clients ask for gluten free and at public events
